The White House Cancels the White House

This is out-and-out manipulation of public opinion and playing on the emotions of Americans for political gain.

The Washington Times reported that the White House announced in an email,

Due to staffing reductions resulting from sequestration, we regret to inform you that White House Tours will be canceled effective Saturday, March 9, 2013 until further notice. Unfortunately, we will not be able to reschedule affected tours,”

”

Really? This is so faux panic, it’s pathetic. Brought to you by The Most Transparent Administration Ever.

(I suppose it doesn’t really matter if they do close the White House, it’s not like anything gets done there anyway. Budget, anyone?)

UPDATE: Rep. Louis Gohmert filed an amendment to HR 933 that would bar federal funds from being spent on President Obama’s golf outings until public tours of the White House start up again.

This just keeps getting better.
