OUTRAGE OVER 9/11 FIRE TRAINING EXERCISE

BRAD MERRIMAN – JOURNALIST/TACDNEWS – At Boston’s Logan Airport Wednesday, the fire department decided they would hold a fire training on the tarmac.  The Fire Dept had a mock airplane on fire with plumes of black smoke that resembled an airplane actually bursting into flames, to the surrounding community. logandrillGovernor Deval Patrick called the exercise just plain ‘dumb’.

On September 11th 2001, two of the airplanes used in the terror attacks had taken off from Logan Airport. Massport,. which owns and operates the airport, made a public apology stating, “Safety and security is our top priority, and constant vigilance and readiness is critical, but the exercise should not have taken place on the anniversary of 9/11,”
