SCHOOL SHOOTING HOSTAGE TOLD GUNMAN, ‘I LOVE YOU’, BEING CALLED A HERO

BRAD MERRIMAN – JOURNALIST/TACD NEWS – Antoinette Tuffs showed amazing restraint and demeanor as she talked the shooter down in a Decatur, Georgia school office yesterday afternoon, as the young man stormed the room brandishing an assault rifle.   The alleged shooter Michael Brandon Hill made it clear that he was going to die, and so was the responding police officers.  Hill told Tuffs he wanted a local TV station WSB-TV to be present when the gun battle between himself and police began.  Fortunately the gun battle was short lived, and Tuffs convinced Hill to put down his weapons and surrender.  Tuffs actually disarmed Hill herself, patting him down and emptying his pockets.  Tuffs told Good Morning America that she was able to get through to him when he told her that “No one loved him.”  Tuffs replied, “I love you.”

Today Hill waived his right to appear in the DeKalb Magistrate Court.
